The Tanougou Falls lie in the Atacora range of northern Benin, roughly twenty kilometres northeast of the town of Tanguiéta. The water cascades in stages over rock ledges, feeding natural pools that are used for swimming. Flow is strongly seasonal, reaching its peak during the rainy season from around May to September. The falls are a popular stop for travellers visiting the nearby Pendjari park.
