Kakum National Park protects roughly 375 square kilometres of tropical rainforest in the Central Region. Its best-known feature is a canopy walkway of seven rope-and-plank bridges strung through the treetops, giving visitors a view across the forest normally reserved for birds. The park shelters forest elephants, antelopes and several hundred bird and butterfly species, and is managed with surrounding communities for conservation and tourism.
