Kpalimé and the Plateaux Waterfalls

06°54′N 000°38′E · Plateaux Region

A hill town in the Plateaux Region set among coffee and cocoa country, surrounded by forested slopes and waterfalls.

Kpalimé lies about 120 km north of Lomé and around 15 km from the Ghanaian border, in fertile highland country long used for the export of tropical crops such as coffee and cocoa. The surrounding plateau feeds a series of cascades, including the falls at Womé and in the Kpimé area, fed by streams dropping off the escarpment. The town is a base for walking in the wooded hills and is close to Mount Agou. It is one of Togo's main centres for crafts and highland tourism.
