Man and the Western Mountains

A highland town in western Côte d'Ivoire ringed by forested peaks, waterfalls and rocky outcrops.

Man lies among the mountains of the west and serves as the seat of the Montagnes District and the Tonkpi Region. Nearby rise Mount Tonkoui and Mount Toura, among the highest peaks in the country, while La Dent de Man, a tooth-shaped rocky outcrop above the town, is a popular hiking destination. La Cascade, a waterfall on the western side of town, is set within a bamboo forest. The surrounding region is also known for its traditional villages and craftwork.
